Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"A nostalgic old chinese restaurant with their speciality like mango deep fried fish etc. the place is not huge and too crampy. Food is nice and right for our taste with good service as well from captain till the waitress. Overall like it but there is still room for improvements. Tips: Area is tough for parking and lane too narrow so advisable to park at the next road and walk over."
"Service was a slow during peak dining hour. Food was delicious. Price was reasonable."
"Hidden gem, highly recommended. Honest auntie gv good recommendation. Place is basic but clean. Not many worker so be patience. 2nd visit. Never disappoint. Try new dishes 17&23-nov 2-mar-24, revisit."
"This restaurant is hidden from plain sight and the interior is quite dated. This was our first time here and the lady boss recommended three dishes - asam fish, chicken and stir fried vege with egg. However the portions were quite small for three of us and we ordered extra two dishes - lotus root with butter and marmite chicken. Overall we found the dishes are reasonable good but a bit salty. Nevertheless the price was quite reasonable."
"An old charm kinda shop! The shop isn't the most happening looking but u will see more locals dropping by then u know this place is good. I really like how the lady boss recommended for me. Made my life easy+ I was ready to try something try. I would say all dishes were really enjoyable. I tried their seasonal stir fried shark dish, the sauce went well. The salad chicken was good stuff too. All the food have wok hey;)) I love how the lady boss took our order, went to the kitchen to help and then came out to ask how's the food. So much hospitality in this simple looking shop! Definitely would wanna come back to try other dishes;)))))"
"If you are there, you should order the special fried chicken dish, if I'm not mistaken is call "salad chicken". It tastes sour-ish, sweat and mixes with nuts, and it is so good. We also ordered the steam fish, silky smooth steam egg and veg. Very homely cooking style restaurant. Overall, enjoy the food very much and will definitely come back again for the fried chicken dish."
"Very intricate and delicious dishes - liked the lotus root n cabbage dish; garlic minced pork. Very fitting with white rice."
"Very tasty Chinese food a.k.a. tai chow in this area. Prices are reasonably cheap. Their specialty is homemade tofu (choy heong tau foo) with minced meat, pumpkin tofu. Cheong poe chicken tastes better than korean fried chicken minus the sweetness. Guinness pork ribs or chicken is also another one of my favourites. There are many other delicious dishes which the lady who takes the order will recommend to me. Came here on a Monday evening at 5.10pm and restaurant was open. Food was served within 15 minutes of ordering. Restaurant is air conditioned, tables are limited and is very packed during weekends. Reservations are accepted. Closed every Tuesday."
